California Nutrition Corner

Hey Folks,

Just wanted our loyal customers to know the latest in CNC news!  The AAU Powerlifting Nationals held in Vista, CA on June 21st and 22nd were dominated by Team 4 Star!  Multiple World Records were broken by the team.  One in particular was set by none other than Spencer Gill, an employee of CNC.  Spencer has been with the 4 Star Team and a CNC employee about the same amount of time.
Spencer set the bar to a new level this weekend!  He deadlifted 585 lbs at 19 years old and a body weight of 176 lbs.  This destroys the old World Record of 385 lbs.  Spencer is well on his way to a 600+ lb deadlift.  He did give 611 lbs a great pull, only to have some technical difficulties and thus not making the lift, but it is well within his sights.
Spencer took the Best Deadlifter award for the whole competition, too!
Some of the other World Records that were broken were Dave Muro's     722 lb deadlift in the 220 lb Open Division, beating the old World Record of 705 lbs (which was his); Art Fu set a new World Record for the bench press in the 55-59 Men's 181 class of 363 lbs (the old record was 314); and Mark Shultz broke multiple World Records also in his division.
Last but not least, yours truly (Darrell), won the 40 - 44 Men's Masters 198 Division (I actually weighed in at 194) with a 1300.7 lb total (New Personal Record); squatted 435.4 lb, benched 385.8 lbs, and deadlifted 479.5 lbs.  All lifts were new personal records.
So if you are by the store, make sure to say "Congrats" to Spencer.
We will follow up with all of the teams' scores as soon as the AAU has them posted.
Hope in near future we at CNC can help our great customers with all their supplement needs. Look for the June specials to come soon.  And, as always, stay healthy and be strong.

                                                                               All The Best,
                                                                                   Darrell
